Welcome to our farm
Bechan Retreats holiday properties comprises 2 lodges and a cottage sited on Pant Farm, our 90 acre working beef & sheep farm. Located 2.5 miles from the bustling market town of Newtown and consisting of rolling permanent pasture and ancient woodland. Pant Farm is managed by myself (Karen), hubby (Bryan) and our two boys George and Josh.
We pride ourselves on our warm welcome and strive to provide everything necessary to make your stay memorable. On arrival you will find a welcome pack of essentials (including some fizz). In addition, quality environmentally friendly toiletries will be waiting in the bathrooms. Our aim is to provide your best ever break. Hopefully, you’ll be booking to return before you have even left!
If pure relaxation is your goal, peace and tranquility are provided by all 3 properties. For example, visitors often comment that the only noise is the sound of birds and the brook. However, if a little more activity is on the menu, then we are perfectly placed to explore the stunning Welsh countryside. For instance, the coast, the mountains, the races, castles, stately homes, nature reserves, market towns and much more all less than an hour away.
Bechan Retreats Holiday Properties
Completed in 2019, both pristine lodges have been designed and furnished to the highest standards, with fabulous Marquis hot tubs, set behind the glass enclosed patio areas. The patios provide the perfect spot to view the valley at dawn or glimpse one of the many Red Kites gliding on the thermals in the afternoon.
Pant Cottage is a semi detached property attached to our farmhouse. It’s a cozy 2 bed cottage with wonderful views, quality furnishings, private parking and a lovely enclosed patio overlooking our pond and gardens.
It is very much a working farm
The fields surrounding the properties are filled with different stock depending on the time of year. There will always be someone to say “Good Morning” to, be it ewes & lambs, calves, cows or horses. You will probably receive a visit from our gorgeous but greedy pair of peacocks, Kevin and Colin. Kevin of course being the girl, named after the big bird in UP! Certain months we are busy with the annual farm tasks such as lambing or shearing etc. and, if we are engaged in one of these tasks, you are more than welcome to watch or join in.
Your pets are welcome too!
All our accommodation is dog friendly and feel free to walk with your dog around Pant wood which is within our farm. The nature within is quite wonderful; keep your eyes peeled for woodpeckers, foxes, badgers and much more. The variety of birds is vast, if bird spotting is on your list you will not be disappointed.
